Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen)

The long-awaited. This took FOREVER and I'm not sure I'll ever do another one at this detail and size. the picture is ever-so-slightly blurry, I'll mess with it.

It took me 45 hours (but over 60 just sitting and staring at it). That amount of time carried me thorugh many Tolkien lectures, a section of the Silmarillion audiobook, the entire LotR special features (Weta rocks my world), hours and hours of music (mainly Paramore on this one), and lots of other distractions. Never again will I do this much chainmail.

I would supply a reference picture, but it's all over the web.

Done in pencils 2H - 8B, on 18 x 24 inch paper.
I'd like to send it to Viggo Mortensen for signing... We'll see.

EDIT: LOL! Was drinking hot chocolate in my room, got a tickle in my throat, whipped around and spat the hot chocolate all over the lower half of the drawing. It's sufficiently ruined. Incredibly, I'm not too distressed over it. Life happens.
